ESSAY-Genetically Modified Foods

  In this day and age,many people find living more straightforward compared to the past thanks to the inventions of scientists which facilitate our lives.One of these inventions is the manipulation of genetic codes of organisms that provide food sources.Production of these genetically modified foods has become highly common in today`s world.There are various viewpoints about whether it is a development or a problem.However,it is my considered opinion that genetic engineering opens up great opportunities in agriculture,food and medicine,because it creates more resistant foods and effective medicines,and reduces the losses resulting from being rotten.
  Firstly,more resistant foods and more effective medicines can be produced with the help of genetic engineering.The vegetables which are sensitive to certain conditions,for instance,can be converted into touh vegetables byinserting the particular gene into it and medicines can be more effective by using some specific genes.
  Secondly,losses stemming from being rotten can be reduced thanks to genetic engineering.The vegetables we eat undergo many processes until arriving to our homes.Their remaining fresh during these phases is extremely important in agriculture.By changing some genetic codes,decomposition phase can be prolonged.
  It is asserted that genetically modified foods are harmful to our health,therefore production of these must be terminated.What tey say is true to some extent.It is true that genetically modified foods damage our health a little bit.Hoewever,we live in a highly populated world,so without modifiying the genetic codes,we can not provide adequate food supplies.
  In conclusion,there are various opinions about genetically modified foods.But i take the view that genetic engineering brings about manyadvantages and facilitates our lives.
