Our world today has changed a great deal in relation to varying governing systems.Nowadays,indication of a strong government refers to having control over the underdeveloped countries,which is known as imperialism.There are diverse viewpoints about the notion of imperialism.However,its negative impacts such as using people as cheap labour,cultural assimilation and inconsiderateness to native cultures of colonies are undeniable facts.
Firstly,in imperialistic systems,dependent colonies are made to work as cheap labour.In other words,imperialist governments exploit underdeveloped countries by making them work and not giving them much in return.It can be explained as a violation of human rights.
Secondly,imperialism brings about assimilation of colonies into colonial power`s cultural and religious tradition.That is to say,the exploited colony gives up their national identity.They lose their patriotic feelings as the time passes by and adopt the colonial power`s values.
Lastly,colonials show lack of respect for the native cultures of colonies in imperialistic systems.This is an undesirable situation which is produced by colonialism.The major aim of the colonials is benefitting from exploited countries as much as they can.Therefore,they do their colonization regardless of any right or respect.
In conclusion,there are many drawbacks of imperialism,three of which are using people as cheap labour,cultural assimilation and inconsiderateness to the native cultures.The point to be emphasized is that we need to be aware of these drawbacks.
